    After a little over a month of time off school, I seemed to forget the business of courses starting back up. With being at a new school this semester, there has been many learning experiences and adjustments to overcome as the semester started up again. As I continue along with my journey through college, and honestly not having very much of my undergraduate degree left, I am beginning to realize the effort that needs to be put into my classes this year.. which honestly does not clear up much space for me. Well, I suppose that just means I need to get better at time management to be able to pursue everything I have on my plate this year.

    Today was quite a cold one. I wrapped myself up in my red wool coat and white fur for classes today, and still walking through campus was a chore. I found the nightgown I am wearing at an estate sale a week earlier, along with the satellite map of the Kansas City metro area hanging in my living room, and I have always had a love for wearing them other times than in the evening. I also had acrylic nails done a little awhile ago, which I am feeling bittersweet about because they are rather long, so we'll see if this will be a new normal look for me. But for nolw, I still need to learn to type more efficiently with them.

   Wildflowers are kind of my favorite flowers ever. They are those little details that make even the cold-weather loving souls become in love with summer. I went to a garden area and trail close to my apartment after class and other earns this afternoon, and I can't believe I haven't been all summer. The wood-chip trails were perfectly lined with the tallest and prettiest assortment of wildflowers, the views were so beautiful. Needless to say, I walked out with many bug bites, but even the little annoying ones on my feet were worth it. 

   I keep seeing pumpkin ale and pumpkin lattes pop up everywhere around the city, but I am forcing myself to wait until September before acting on fall things. I mean, it's still summer for awhile right? Even though I love the autumn flavors, I'm going to stick with my berries and topical items for now... but that doesn't mean I can't dress in brown fall tones.

   The River Market is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Kansas City. The atmosphere of the area is overwhelmingly calm and a perfect spot for summer time afternoons. I love the little bakeries, Italian markets, and the City Market park that is in the heart of the neighborhood. The streets are fulled with cobblestone and the buildings with bricks... the walks around here are wonderful.

   This Friday I was very occupied with watching my friend's very little kitten. I have the softest spot in the world for baby animals (doesn't everyone though?) and I had so much fun playing with him. Although both of my almost two year old cats were not as fond of him, the little guy made me long for those winter days when mine were that tiny. Having two cats is enough for me at the moment though.

   I'm welcoming back my good friend, summer break. I'm welcoming back no more endless nights of cramming for tests, early morning drives to school, educational psychology research, and history extended essays... this is until I start my summer classes. But, it will honestly still be a major break for me, even though I will be nannying a lot more this summer and still be doing college work. 

   Life for the next few months will be much more relaxing. I relaxed today by doing some antiquing and grabbing a latte with a friend before work. My boyfriend and I plan on taking a camping trip this weekend, which is rescheduled from the cold (which it no longer is close to that here!) and is a well-needed escape  I still have many events that are college-related this summer to attend to though, mainly a giant teaching exam that will be needed before I enter my new school I am transferring to. Yes, so it seems "summer break" is kind of non-existent for me, but I can still utilize these few weeks before college is the number one again.
