fountains of youth

(a few thrifted items from a flea market in downtown Kansas City, Kansas.)

(everything worn here is either vintage or thrifted)

Although I've been awaiting the dying out of summer, it's crazy how fast the time flies and how I am starting classes. Today was the last official day of my summer break, and the start of a new term. I'm rather happy to be knowing I'm even closer to my graduation date, but this semester will be a busy one. A  very busy one. You'll probably be hearing and seeing a little less of me, since my daily adventures won't take me very much farther than my school books.
This summer break has been a time of change. A change in living spaces, ideas, many new friends, jobs.. the list goes on. I feel like summer is the oddest season out of the year for me, always. I can't wait to sit down in a week or two and write my seasonally "to-do list". Fall is very soon on its way.

i dream of spring

(new chalkboard design for a new season.)

( gray sweater: i heart ronson, blue sweater/dress/socks: thrifted, tights: target, boots: vintage from my mom.)

Happy beginning of the spring season! Although it did not feel like the spring weather should, there is a definite change in the air. My boyfriend and I awoke this morning to a "happy spring" being announced to each other  which is one of the many reasons I am so joyful with him (he remembers I love any sort of "special day"). Since it is the start of a new season in the year, I have comprised a "to-do list" for some activities over the next few months I plan to accomplish.
Notice the cutest bunny stamp at the bottom of the list? That little gem was from Micheal's for a $1.50. Thank you Easter time for supplying copious amounts of bunny things that most people only use during this time of the year... that I will use all throughout!

sounds like hallelujah

(playing around with photoshop.)

Father Winter granted my wish... more snowy Midwestern days. There is always such a debate on liking snow: the con of driving and inconvenience, the pro of lovely views and a "winterish feel". The fact of the matter is I am in love with snow and I deal with the dreaded icy drives to school (which the morning was by far).
One of my three classes was canceled today, which gave me some extra and needed time to do some early Valentine's day shopping on the Country Club Plaza. I bought my boyfriend a winter coat (which he is too much of a light layering man to own a thick one), which I gave to him as soon as I got home. So much for surprises?! I get too excited to give them at a later date.

deer at the brook

(what's in my bag today)

(vegan/gluten-free peanut butter brownies i baked this evening, recipe here & i veganized it)

the dress i am wearing here was actually a nightgown from my grandma. it's been sitting on my shelf of "to- do" for hemming up and sewing for such a long time (everyone knows that shelf, all of the items you get excited to fit up and then you get busy and forget). i was deicing whether or not to send her a picture of the fixed item, but i was not sure if she meant for me to fix it up! anyways, lately i have been on a sewing kick and many of my daily outfits have consisted of hand-made or re-touched items, and i could not be happier about that.
for an early christmas present, i received a samsung galaxy s3 from my parents today. so, even though i told myself i would not, i caved in and got istagram. you can follow me here or under "hellomrrabbit", if you would like! i am very new to this, but i take so many daily photos with my phone, it would be nice to have somewhere to share them.
