little golden waves

(blazer/blouse/loafers: thrifted, dress: kohls, tights: target + target

Everything is so murky here in the city of fountains... there was even snow on my roof yesterday. The clouds only misted this morning, while I browsed through some garage sales in a neighborhood. While scouting around there, a seller told us about his church having their annual donated sale, since I was on the hunt for deals that was a definite go. They were about to close the event, so everything you could fit in a trash bag was one dollar. Yes, least amount of money I have spent for the most things.
After shifting through items at the sale, I stopped by a friend's new apartment for a bit, which inspired me to do some rearranging myself.Whenever I start organizing moving pieces around, I always seem to find an unfinished product to work on, a book I haven't flipped through in a moment, etc. Needless to say, I get distracted, and hints why I have jumbles of little things laying around. Someday it will all get in it's place.

violet eyes

(painted sticks in vase, older diy)

(clipboards of things and handmade paper tags I cut out at my loft. placed in the dining room.)

(bundled up in the warmest of scarves, for school days.)

(favorite bows to wear in my hair.)

I believe there is a lot to be said about a person who can manage a busy schedule  I always admire those people; the ones whom always keep a calm presents about the day and yet, seem to always find time for themselves. My first week of this semester has shown me how much of schedule I will have to have in order to succeed. My planner is like my child and I have been planning constant of my school days/evenings. I am becoming more of a Type A personality everyday.
I am having a four day weekend starting tomorrow, which I am more than thankful for. It will be filled of seeing friends I have been too busy to connect with, having my family over for dinner, cleaning my old loft, doing homework, and adding more items to my shop. I think every student needs a shortened week at the beginning of the semester.

a winter's tale

(breakfast nook, new coffee mugs.)

(letter organizer I thrifted today.)

Oh my, the last weekend of my winter break has arrived. For so long, it seems, my life has had no scheduling and been focused on moving/unpacking my new home. I have pretty much finished up everything, except for the getting rid of boxes and a few final items to be brought to the house, which comes with perfect timing. Ready to get back in the swing of school and having a busy week.
I spent some of the day thrifting (in which I bought a chair and some dollies), showing friends my new home, and going to Paper Source to buy some washi tape and other craft supplies. As in yesterday's post, a few of the pieces I am wearing are from Megan (Kiddo Tv), through our thrift swap. The lovely items she sent me include the scarf, the cutest collar clip ever, the red hat, and the skirt. All of these items fit/are my style perfectly, and I can't wait to send her the pieces I picked out for her!

gettin' in tune

Today I finished organizing my craft room. Yes, you heard it right, MY craft room! I am extremely happy and lucky to have a space that inspires me to create (and use it to do homework/study/etc) and keep everything that is a little "too cutesy" for the rest of the house (according to my boyfriend). My cats have been thoroughly enjoying all the space our new home has to offer. They have been running up and down the stairs constantly, and trying to explore every inch of the house.  My winter break is almost to an end, starting school back up Monday, so the only thing I have been doing is unpacking household items. I believe I will meet my goal by getting everything done by Sunday.
A few of the items I am wearing here are from the lovely Megan  from Kiddo TV blog. We are doing a little "thrift swap" with each other. The bow clips, the dress, and the tights are all from her. She defiantly knows my style and they are such lovely items. I adore each one so much!
