your rocky spine

(everything worn here is either vintage or thrifted)

Old friends that you reconnect with are the best of friends. The ones, that after all these years, still think of you when they are digging through vintage clothes and decide this dress would be perfect for you. Let me say, I do love the dress I wore today and I do love having connections with people that last throughout years. I have enjoyed much time with friends this week; browsing the Unplaza Art Fair, half price book sales, grilling out, shows at the Riot Room, river walks, and buying deep fried doughnuts from Beignet. I love the company I spend time with.
It's the middle of the week, and I'm already counting time until the weekend. I can always tell school and life is on it's tracks when I start planning for weekend things during the week. I suppose that's what people with full-time jobs do as well?! Well, I don't want to think that far ahead yet.

crystal caverns

(going to try and use natural dyes from ginger and bay leaves sometime this week.)

(top: forever 21, skirt/sandals/purse: thrifted)

My last few weeks of summer are in full-force after finishing up my short classes for this season. There is a bittersweetness in the air of mote free time and fall right around the way. I plan on using this time wisely and making/creating as much as I can, and hoping I don't get sucked into the lazy days of summer lounging (you know how free time can get to you!).
I have made a little "side list" of some projects I plan to get done before starting classes again and a second job (fingers crossed!). Some items on the list are re-opening my etsy shop in a new form, dying with natural items, making bagels and doughnuts, re-designing my blog, doing a few more photo shoots  and making a head board for my bed. Can I finish this list?! Time will tell. Readers, what projects are you looking forward to completing before this summer ends?

strawberry swing

(lavender bubble tea, first frozen drink of the year, from Lollicup.)

(dress/belt/loafers: thrifted, tights/sock: target)

I haven't had a Sunday in so long that has been warm. Warm even to the point that when we go on walks, my boyfriend comments on the heat. Warm enough that a frozen drink sounds good, strawberries get sticky in the car, and there are no sweaters stuck in my messager bag. The weather even allowed for some outdoor reading and relaxing.
The farmers market was rather full of life today, which is excepted in the warmer months of the year. I miss living within biking distance, it allowed me to go every weekend with hesitation. I was out and about for awhile today, but I suppose my time is spent and I must get back to studying for upcoming finals. That's why o love Sundays though, always enough time for everything.
(Also, if you haven't checked out my "Question & Answer" video from a few weeks ago, feel free to do so here!)

chilly-crisp creatures

(items thrifted for myself today)

(these items came in my mailbox today! a pair of frames from firmoo, which i won a gift card to from a giveaway, and a hello kitty phone cover.)

(finishing up some final touches on my christmas cards. sending them out tomorrow when i pick up the pictures i am including in them!)

even after just two days of not having a normal class schedule  i keep messing up which day it is. all of these changes are confusing me! i am becoming an avid planner; this i can tell due to my lack of daily scheduling like before. although i love breaks from school, it always seems old to me not having a full daily schedule written down in my planner.
after completing two of my six finals today, i took a relaxing break from all of the studying and essays that come at the end of the semester. i went thrift store shopping at a salvation army near my loft, and found a few items for my boyfriend's socking and a few other people on my list. i honestly do not see the problem with shopping second-hand for christmas. this just means you can get more for you money, and fix up the items for the gift giving! readers, what are your opinions on this?
