birdhouse in your soul

(my sister painted this for me for Christmas, hanging in my craft room.)

(favorite candies, dark chocolate over espresso beans.)

 (what's in my bag today.)

 (constantly instagraming my cats.)

I have been such a homebody lately (hints why all of my pictures have been in my house recently). There is still the feel in the air of living in a new environment, things left to explore, and the "newness" of everything. I seem to confine myself to my craft room or bedroom most of the evenings. Always feeling there is a piece of homework to do, or another etsy package to wrap and decorate.
This Sunday, Brad and I ran to a few places close to home. We (I) found some oxfords and a button up at a thrift store to add to his closet and then headed to Trader Joes to grab some groceries.  With the fridge fully stocked, I know this week will go well.

a photo an hour: january

9 am. Mosey out of bed, prepare coffee, and local readings.

10 am. Shower, pick out clothing attire, do daily make-up.

11 am. Eat a light lunch, check emails/social media networks, received a pretty package from Shabby Apple

Noon. Visits from my best friend, trips in her new car, picking up snacks.

1 pm. Picking up the last items from my old loft, walks around the Crossroads district.

2 pm. shooting for online shop (adding many items this weekend!).

(3 pm-4 pm nanny.)

5 pm. grocery shopping for family dinner in the evening, start preparing items for eating.

6 pm. Preparing pizza crust, bake dessert (vegan apple crisp), and clean around house.

7 pm. Top/bake the home-made pizzas (one with ricotta, mozzarella, and basil.. the other with Canadian bacon and pineapple) , family heads over for dinner.

8 pm. Causal pizza dinner, my "own" vegan pizza with pineapples and basil.

9 pm. Games of Apples to Apples and interesting beers.

I decided to try to do a monthly post of "a photo an hour" for my blog beginning now. I chose a rather busy day for this update. I was lucky to have my classes canceled for this Friday  but my day was still very full. Brad and I decided to invite my parents over for dinner in the evening, which meant lots of preparing/shopping for items for the meal. The evening was very nice, the day was filled of catching up with my best friend, and the morning was full of relaxation and unstressful time constrains. Good Friday for me

violet eyes

(painted sticks in vase, older diy)

(clipboards of things and handmade paper tags I cut out at my loft. placed in the dining room.)

(bundled up in the warmest of scarves, for school days.)

(favorite bows to wear in my hair.)

I believe there is a lot to be said about a person who can manage a busy schedule  I always admire those people; the ones whom always keep a calm presents about the day and yet, seem to always find time for themselves. My first week of this semester has shown me how much of schedule I will have to have in order to succeed. My planner is like my child and I have been planning constant of my school days/evenings. I am becoming more of a Type A personality everyday.
I am having a four day weekend starting tomorrow, which I am more than thankful for. It will be filled of seeing friends I have been too busy to connect with, having my family over for dinner, cleaning my old loft, doing homework, and adding more items to my shop. I think every student needs a shortened week at the beginning of the semester.

salt of the earth

(this is what I call home now.)

(Whitecastle and I having some cuddle time.)

(I have been finding pieces of cotton all around the yard.)

(using chalkboard spray paint for clipboards for the kitchen.)

(old mailbox on the porch and barred windows that form a heart.)

(spray paint everywhere in the backyard from me. opps!)

If you are a reader of my blog, you know how much I cherish Sundays. Brad (my boyfriend) and I usually have this day to ourselves (going out for a late breakfast, watch films, cook a wonderful meal, etc), but today was a major "to-do" Sunday! My goal was to get everything completed on the house before I start school this week, which the goal was nearly reached. With all the big things knocked out of the day, I should have a stress-free start to my Spring semester of courses.
As readers can probably see, I dressed overly comfy and causal day. We did a lot of cleaning today, so none of my prized vintage dresses would have dared to be seen on me this day! Brad is always wearing denim jackets, lots of black, and sometimes the add on of black gloves.. so this outfit was sort of a "we are working together today, so I'm going to dress like you.. but with a twist of me" look. Yes, I am silly and Brad always laughs (which I know he loves it).
