missouri town, 1855
there is a wonderful festival that happens once a year in kansas city, missouri town! this historical themed little "village" is so unique and comprised of homes/shops, crops, and farm life. they had many craft tents full of hand-made items (things that would be around in the late 1800's) and other odds and ends. this fall festival was full of period music, costumes worn by everyone, and lots of games for children. it is perfect to spend a morning/afternoon hearing stories of older times and exploring the buildings in the little town. my family and i go almost every year, and my mom has been going since she was very little! something we always stop at is the food tents for apple fritters hand-cut curly fries, and apple cider.
it felt like winter outside today in kansas city. i was even chilly in what i was wearing! i always feel like here we have about a week of fall, then winter washes right in. hopefully we the temperature will go back up a few more degrees for a little longer!
