on a carousel

You know you've out of the city limits when you are surrounded by ferris wheels, funnel cake stands, and balloon dart games. Also, extreme summer heat from the lack of buildings, and today was a warm one. Yes, I'm talking about a town festival. A little town festival, Parkville to be exact, that my boyfriend found by asking Google what events were happening in Kansas City this Sunday afternoon. I love those afternoons when we find these unexpected adventures. The little carnival was a great almost end to August, I even got a little stuffed elephant... that he won from a shooting Budweiser cans game (they have the funniest games, right?!)

While the festival did not take us the whole afternoon to explore, we also went to Cowtown Ballroom and Bitterman's Eye Candy and Vintage Shop for some vintage browsing. The second store is also a candy shop, which now has all of my favorite things in one location. Can you say dream part-time job?! If only.

  2. I'm so jealous about your carnival find! I'm been looking for carnivals in my area but they never seem to happen. I think ferris wheels are adorable and I'd love to visit a fair ground this year. I hope you both had a blast, and I agree that unexpected weekend activities are the best <3

  14. I love carnivals! There's an annual one that happens around the Seattle area every September and I can't wait! Love the pictures you captured of the fair. I also love your skirt. I love polka dot print and I like how you paired it with a simple crisp blouse. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Just started following on BL. Hope you can follow back so we can stay connected : )

  18. Happy to have stumbled on your space on the web after learning that you are a fellow vegan and adventurer, via Little Lady Little City. That ferris wheel is lovely and the whole adventure just makes me want to go on one. I haven't been on one since I was a kid.

  19. That photo of the ferris wheel at the fair is UNREAL. It seriously looks like a postcard! I recently went to a county fair in these parts (TN), but my pictures don't look that good! My boyfriend won me a stuffed snake by throwing a baseball at a beer bottle! Too funny. I love your hair bow!
