poison oak

(finding a little bakery inside Reading Reptile, a children's bookstore.)

(owl purse c/o: oasap, everything else is either vintage or thrifted)

Today was possibly one of those rare instances that, even though despite the heat, makes me want summer to continue. The Kauffman Memorial Garden looked as beautiful as ever this Wednesday afternoon, and there were so many English Roses and other favorite flowers of mine to see. I will be sad to see the cold weather come and take them for awhile. The garden was absolutely breath taking today, I did not even notice that sticky and uncomfortably hot feeling in the 95 degree weather.

The Nelson Aktin's Museum was quite perfect after roaming through the flowers and fountains. I mostly remained in the European and 18th/19th Century American sections, being inspired by the women in their beautiful gowns and decorative dishware in their collections. My best friend and I talked about how we were born in the wrong century, dreams of being princesses, and the feeling we get when we look at Monet's Water Lilies. Maybe we are not your normal 20/21 year olds.

  1. Lovely! I know what you mean about the heat. Its still very hot in Texas but just not as unbearable. It can be beautiful.

  2. These photos are so pretty! I can't believe how gorgeous that fountain is. While it's gorgeous with the roses, I bet it's also a peaceful spot to visit in the winter. Love you in red!

  3. I looked at the pictures and I was like- oh wow, she is in Paris!? But then I realized that it is another one of Monets pictures... it looks so similar to one that is in Paris. I love Monet a lot! When I lived in Paris I went to the Monet museum at lest once a month :)
This area looks so beautiful! I would love to go there!

  4. The photos are stunning!! And I totally understand the feeling of being born in the wrong time - I think I'm more of a '50s girl myself but still still chronologically close to where we are currently. Although 18th and 19th century fashion was much more interesting to say the least :]

  22. These seem like such nice places to visit during the summer and those giant badminton birdies are so cool! And you look so lovely in this red dress. I like how you incorporated the scarf. I'd like to try experimenting with tying scarves over dresses now.
