(skirt/top: re-run's, everything else is either vintage or thrifted)
The thunderstorms throughout the day didn't do any justice to this Saturday, in fact it was not gloomy at all. The only some-what depressing part of the day was that my favorite vintage warehouse had it's final opening day, which was bittersweet with giant sale they shared with the public. I was literally swamped in many dresses, skirts, and giant collars that I believe I gained almost another closet out of.... without spending over ten dollars.
I am currently house sitting for the weekend, which I've come to love these times. Consuming pickles from their fridge, making friend's with the wiener dog LuLu, and drinking pumpkin ale has been my last two days. After the rain today, everything felt just like it should this season... and should look as well. I can't believe how bright the leaves are the ground are.
Though, admittedly, I am a little less than half a year away from being able to legally consume pumpkin ale, it smells (and tastes) lovely.
ReplyDeleteThose clothes! It's a bittersweet that it was their last opening day, but you gained so many wonderful clothes that they'll live on! haha.

I love these posts of your that give such a vivid snapshot of your life. I read that same edition of The Secret Garden as a kid (and still have a copy of The Little Princess illustrated by the same illustrator). Also, your dog looks SO MUCH like our maltese-dachshund mix, Max!
ReplyDeleteyour friend's dog is adorable, dachshunds are my favourite! and that's a shame the vintage shop is closing down but at least you picked up a HUGE pile of bargains, judging from that photo.

Oooh, Lovely shirt. These photos are darling. The gloomy weather made for some very pretty captures, my dear!
ReplyDeleteThis entry makes me happy! I read that same copy of Secret Garden when I was a kid. We used to have pizza parties if the entire class read 5 books each. I remember the teacher thought this was a really substantial piece of literature for a third grader and counted it as 2 books.
ReplyDeleteI love that dress you are wearing too! Lilac is one of my favourite colours. It's just so pretty! And nice haul on the vintage stuff! It's sad they are closing but at least it's a nice parting gift.
House sitting can be fun, but only if you get to make friends with the resident pets :) Take care!
