happy election day, to all of my fellow american readers! this was my first year of being able to vote for a presidential election, which i was almost too excited about (the little lady at the poll was probably overwhelmed by my enthusiastic attitude) . i am not going to rant about whom i am voting for.. but, i will tell you i voted for the candidate who supports women's rights, education, and health care reform. election day is such a symbolic day for american democracy. i will be up late tonight watching the election news/results this evening! i feel honored, as a women, to be able to vote for all the rights groups that fought hard for women to vote and the other countries that they are still fighting for that right. knowledge is power and if you do not use your civic "voice" by voting to make decisions, your voice will never be heard.
it was a slight bit warmer today than yesterday, so i was able to wear a "new" nightgown cover i found at a thrift store a few weeks ago. i love wearing vintage nightgowns as dresses or the covers over a dress/blouse. they are so girly and cute, they make me feel so feminine i went to another thrift store today and found a school uniform dress, plaid wool vest, peter pan collared sweater, and wooden hanging hearts (which i hung on the back of a closet door). whenever i am in the suburbs, i always go to the thrift stores there. the ones in the city feel extremely picked over to me. as i always say, the best finds are the ones in the smallest towns!
i adore your photos! They're always inspiring and beautiful and whimsical.
