we'll play house

(dress: re-run's, stockings: homemade from craft vendor, everything else is either vintage or thrifted)

First Saturdays in the West Bottoms is one of those events that has grown and changed so much since I started attending, but still I always look forward to browsing through for an afternoon. I love the amount of food trucks and street performers you see throughout the walk around the historical buildings, and vast variety of items you see being sold along the sidewalks. Although I am not particularly interested in the "repurposed" (with either paint or glitter) or up-cycled vintage stores that have swept up most of the area in the West Bottoms, I am still fond of Stuffology and others who stick true to antiques and always have the best items I am lusting over.
After this First Saturday, I am in a mood to redecorate and find some steals for my apartment.  If only I could have afforded that 60's spinning egg chair and medical diagram of an arm I spotted today..  I believe that would have completed my desire.

  9. I really want that velvet chair in the third picture. Your vintage dress is amazing!

By the way, I received the pink coat and I love it! It fits so well and I'm tickled that the union label indicates it's 60s - early 70s! I can't wait to wear it, but it may be a little while since it's probably the warmest winter coat I own now. Thank you!!!

  20. look like such an absolutely amazing place. i feel like we have tons of thrift stores but not many antique stores around here. i know the "unique" chalkboard artwork, such a lovely reminder. and i love this color dress on you! and esp the poncho over it, i always feel that i cant mix 50s looks w/ more 70s for some reason but duh.. i can cuz you look amazing. thx for this little style inspiration : ).
