Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! I hope each one of you had a lovely Sunday, and hopefully the weather was not as gloomy where you reside as it was in my town today. I am neither Irish nor Catholic, but I do love celebrating any sort of holiday and dressing in theme, so of course I took this day seriously! With being a future Kindergarten teacher, I feel the need for loving random (or not so random) holidays is a must. Anyways, Kansas City always holds a giant parade that stretches over 10 blocks on Broadway, with lots of food trucks and bars opening bright and early. Needless to say, it sort of becomes a mad house, but the rain and slight hint of snow toned down these masses... or at least me.
After venturing around and viewing the floats, my boyfriend and I shared a light lunch to stay inside the warmth for a bit. Later, we took a trip to an abandon freight store in a suburb, where I bought a Polaroid 300 Instant for extremely cheap and brightened my whole day. We ended our evening at a local house show and watched some friends and out of town bands play in a basement. Those are the best kinds of shows and I am happy to end an evening with discovering new listenings and being in bed at a reasonable time for my first day back to school after break. Whew, a rainy St. Patrick's Day here was made the best of.

As a teacher, loving random holidays is definitely a plus. Also, there is just something about how the coat and the dressing together I love. The little hints of patter peeking out!
ReplyDeletesuch a cute frock...looks like you're ready for spring! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful outfit for St. Patrick's day! That parade looks like so much fun. Too bad about that weather though :/
ReplyDeleteI didn't make it down to KC this St Paddy's - what a sham. But the weather sucked so you're braver than me. I did have some vegan Shepards pie, Guinness and some baileys - that counts for something right?
