(blackberry lavender soda, a new favorite!)
(quick dinner of tofu, grilled veggies, rice, and orange ginger sauce.)
(homegrown little tomatoes.)
(tank: vegan police, everything else is either vintage or thrifted)
Ah, the beginnings of a new college semester. When I think back to my previous starts of a new school semester, there is always one (at least) stressful event that happens within the first few days. Welp, this year's expected event has come and gone over the past couple of days, and I'm glad to be swiftly headed out for the rest of the my fall classes. If anyone ever said college was a set and stone ride, that has never been the case with my experiences. I am beyond joyful that I only have a couple of semesters left until graduation.
With having my course life back in full-force for the first week, I was delighted that today I ended up having free time on my hand. A friend and I headed to Little Freshie, a soda fountain in the Westside neighborhood (which is the loveliest area!), and tried one of their hand-crafted sodas for the first time. The owner ran a snow-cone food-truck that had the most wonderful treats, and I figured I should try something from their store-front shop. My hometown is also known as the "City of Fountains , so visiting a fountain in Hyde Park after exploring local spots felt perfect.

The first week of college semesters were always my favorite time of year (well...apart from Christmas, cause I have a crazy-town level of obsession with that holiday). I miss it! Also, blackberry lavender soda?! Are you kidding?! That in itself would be worth the drive to KC! Yum.
