  Happy Halloween everyone! This is one of my favorite days of the year, so full of mysterious things and always a slight chill in the breeze that makes you weary of your surroundings. The day before this I explored the Hotel Savoy and photographed a little shoot based around the Witch's Bible that I found estate saleing awhile ago. The Hotel Savoy is said to be haunted by a ghost of a women who died in room 505, and the Victorian/dim lighted atmosphere makes this chilly story even more.. chilly. 

 Although I have quite a love for anything "romantically chilling" (as I call it), my Halloween costume this year is the opposite category  I can't wait to share those photographs within the next couple of days with you, and have grand Halloween!

a new adventure behind the lens

  I feel as though a weight has been lifted off my shoulders; I finally put my negative expectations and time concerns aside to officially begin my new days as a photographer. My website/portfolio is finally finished, and I couldn't feel happier with the presentation and collections of photographs (which more will be added in the near future). 

  

  I had been struggling personally with the idea of running a photography business for months now. The idea of being "oh, another photographer" in this world of many had made my doubts and concerns grow high. This week I decided to throw those thoughts aside because I know I have something unique to offer to offer in this world of high-volume turned-photographers. I reverted back to when I started "Hello, Mr. Rabbit" and having extreme doubts of starting a lifestyle blog in 2012... when blogging was said and done, and I did not believe I had much to offer under the weight of the "big bloggers". After a year of blogging I have developed and been recognized so much more than I would have ever dreamed of doing if I started blogging in 2009.

  With that being said, I am now introducing "Lindsey Louise Photography" and my newly developed website. I am beyond excited to start sharing my love for capturing and documenting special moments with others, and I can't wait to share some of those images with you. 

made at home: kale muenster quiche

Kale Muenster Quiche 

• 4 cups of chopped kale
• 2 diced red potatoes 
• 3/4 cup of diced muenster
• 2 cloves of chopped garlic
• 5 eggs
• 1 chopped onion
• 1 cup milk
• 1 pie crust (recipe I use here)

  After pie crust is prepped, place in the freezer until ready for use. Saute the potatoes, garlic, onion, and kale. Press the vegetables  besides the kale, firmly with a paper towel to remove excess oil. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk, then fold in the cheese. Place the vegetables in the bottom of the pie crust, then pour the liquid mixture over them. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.  

  Oh, the joys of baking with eggs (I didn't believe that would have come out of my mouth anytime soon in my life). My desserts taste richer, my breakfast keeps me full, and quiche's have developed into one of my new favorite things. This is my first quiche ever, which the delightfulness of this recipe surprised me because I have slim to none experience with eggs. 

  Although eggs are the main experience in this dish, I added a large amount kale to make this a wholesome quiche. Try this for a breakfast treat, a slice for an afternoon snack, or even for those late night "in need of staying awake to study" eats. Trust the newly dairy eater here, it's one to make.

  Today was a treat.... and completely ruled by them. My mother's birthday is coming up this week, so I thought I'd take her to Christoper Elbow's Chocolates because chocolates have always been her favorite. The chocolates are so rich and such wonderful flavors, we ended up with many to taste. Upon arriving, we also decided to go to Natasha's Mullberry & Mott bakery for some fall flavored macaroons. I love any day that is filled with sweet things. 

  My time has been rather booked lately. I've been frantically searching for a seasonal job. Frantically trying to be more of an entrepreneur because I am not a fan of "non-career/interest related part-time jobs college students are usually required to have. I've been buying for my shop more, finishing final touches to my photography website/business, and creating relationships with people who are collectors in search of someone to do their "hunting" for them. I think I get this drive to do business for myself from my dad, and I couldn't be happier where I hope it takes me.

  I am proud to say I've actually been taking my little shop seriously this past month. I have semi-forgotten about it since spring... possibly even longer than that. I have introduced new products I have been collecting over the past months; antique books, oddities, random assortments of shoes, and gloves. I am actually starting to feel "alright" with parting with items, because my collection is getting quite full!

  October is by far one of my most cherished months out of the year. I tend to always save those save those special seasonal moments until the time is just right... not to try and rush to be the first  to experience them. This Tuesday was perfect for Carolyn's Country Cousins pumpkin patch, there was the sun in the sky and the wind in the corn fields. Pumpkins galore  cider doughnuts to be eaten, and animals to be petted surrounded the giant fields. I even more my newest addition to my wardrobe  a vegetable printed dress, in honor of being around my favorite vegetables. 

  The patch smelled of freshly cut grass and freshly baked goods. I could have ate three more doughnuts, and two more cups of rich cider. We found the perfect pumpkin to pick, and carve later this week closer to Halloween. I picked out small gourdes  a white tiny pumpkin, and a little green squash as well. Being surrounded by so much "Autumn" today makes me recall why I adore this season the way I do.
